Volvo Ocean 70

I blogged last time about the money spent by sponsor on the Volvo Ocean and i was reading this morning an article by Ken Read on the future of the race. It may be all every well for the sailboats involved with the race to turn heads whenever they reach a harbour but for the average person sailing a dinghy or a keelboats these big boat are a world away from their day to day sailboat racing. It would be very sad to see one of the great spectacles of sailboat racing come to an end but the powers-that-be probably have to realise that the cost need to come down for this sort of sailboat experience to continue.

Pwllheli sailing Academy

Latest news id that the work on the sailing academy should be finished next year but the only work done so far only the new sailing academy is the ground works for the road and infrastructure. There is  a great layout plan of the new development on the Pwllheli sailing club website http://www.pwllhelisailingclub.co.uk/psc/en/development-news. The new facility will be a spectacular addition to the sailing facilities in the town and draw in lots more sailboat racing.
